THEOPHIL HANSEN REVISITED

Ever since the Academy of Fine arts was established in the 17th century it was a place where interdisciplinary research could blossom. It was a place that both perpetuated and gave discipline to the ability of imagination. The intention of the LIDAR scans is to create a virtual environment of the Academy of fine Arts in Vienna in order to allow a VR experience. The project aims allow public to revisit the historical building in the digital platform within the years of renovation.

The point cloud VR experience allows visitors to observe the elements of Academy of Fine Arts Building from a point of a virtual camera which is detached from the rules of physics.
